I'm Tim Orrego. I started Regent Gardens because the Peninsula needed a property crew that really cares — not one that mows and runs. Over a decade of working with trees, shrubs, lawns and gardens has taught me what a well-kept yard actually looks like. We keep properties so well-maintained you can hardly tell we've been there.
I want Regent Gardens known for two things: real care for the property in front of us, and real conversation with the people who own it.

Lawns, hedges, garden beds, and estate properties from across the Saanich Peninsula.
A few things customers ask before booking.
Yard maintenance, lawn mowing, lawn care, hedge trimming, garden bed maintenance, weeding, pruning, leaf cleanup, seasonal cleanups (spring and fall), mulching, and green waste removal. We do residential, commercial, strata, and estate properties.
Yes. Weekly works well during active growth (spring and summer). Biweekly fits a lot of residential properties that don't need weekly attention but should still be checked in on regularly.
Yes. One-time yard cleanup is a common request — before selling, after a busy season, after winter, before guests arrive, or when a yard has gotten ahead of you. We take it from overgrown to ready.
Yes. For clients on a recurring schedule, debris removal is included in the regular visit. For larger one-time jobs with full truck loads, there may be a small separate removal fee.
In spring: edging beds and lawns, clearing winter debris (leaves, pine needles, weeds that have already started), moss cleanup with rakes and pressure washers, and gutter cleanup.
In fall: deadheading anything done blooming, prepping beds for winter, and pruning excess growth on shrubs so snow loading doesn't cause damage.
Yes. Larger residential properties, rural-residential homes, waterfront properties, and acreages get a customized scope — detailed perennial work, careful weeding, edging, mulching, hedge care, pond and patio cleanup, and fire-smart safety work as needed.
Usually no. For first-time visits, estimates, or detailed work, it helps to talk in person — but for recurring maintenance, most clients are at work or out and we just take care of things as scheduled.

I'm Tim Orrego. I started Regent Gardens because I saw a need in my community for full-range property care. I love the outdoors — plants, watching things grow, making outdoor places beautiful. I've been working in property maintenance for over 10 years with trees, shrubs, grass, and lawns. I like to transform places into beautiful, usable land where homeowners can enjoy their properties instead of spending their weekends working on them.
I want Regent Gardens to be known for two things: fantastic service of your property, and real communication about what you want from it. I chose the name Regent Gardens because it evokes a feeling of class — yards and gardens treated like the centerpiece they should be. Posh, but in the good sense. Just well cared for.
A well-maintained yard looks like it's been taken care of — and at the same time, like it always looks that way. Truly well-maintained, you can't even tell someone's been there. It's easy to underestimate the behind-the-scenes work that goes into keeping it that way, especially the yearly deep jobs: mulching, aerating, hedging, fertilizing. Those are what make the rest of the year feel effortless.
We have a careful eye for detail. Your property will be up to snuff every visit. We're not just there to get the job done — we're there to create a place where you can relax, enjoy, and entertain guests and family.
I always start with weeds, then move to any overgrown or unruly hedges, shrubs, or trees. Both add a sharpness and a clean, cared-for look to a yard right away.
When we mow, we leave the lawn evenly cut with nice lines and trim all the edges. It's not just for looks — clean edges keep weeds and unwanted grasses from going to seed and spreading where they shouldn't.
When we hedge or trim, we cut to the ideal length (not too deep), smooth it into the shape you want — round, square, natural — and clean up all debris before we leave.
In garden beds, we pull weeds at the root. That gives the longest stretch between weedings and suppresses regrowth far better than just hacking at the tops. We edge beds for a clean, finished look.
The Saanich Peninsula has its own rhythm. There are a lot of hedges out here — most need attention yearly or every other year. Lawns need mowing through the active season. Our climate keeps weeds growing nearly year-round, so they always need to be suppressed or pulled.
If you live near the ocean or somewhere wind catches the property, debris will land in your yard almost every day. That's something we handle. The more sun your yard gets, the faster things grow. Combine that with the Peninsula's mild climate and things grow like a jungle — which is why consistent service matters more here than in colder regions.
How often we visit depends on the kind of grass you have, how much you water, how much sun the property gets, and the size of the beds. Some properties make sense weekly, others biweekly, some monthly. We talk through what fits.
In spring, we edge every garden bed and lawn, clean up the debris from winter — leaves, pine needles, weeds that have already started. We clean out moss that's been growing in beds, on driveways, and in the grass with rakes, pressure washers, and power rakes. We clean out the gutters too.
In fall, we deadhead anything that's done blooming, prep beds for winter by removing weeds, and prune off excess growth on shrubs so snow loading doesn't cause damage.
For clients on a recurring schedule, debris removal is usually included. For bigger one-off jobs with full loads, there may be a debris removal fee.
For clients with estate-like properties and a wider scope of work, we customize the service: pond cleanup, patio cleanup, redesign of specific garden areas, heavy debris removal, fire-smart safety work. Many properties on the Peninsula have sprawling heritage gardens that have been around for decades — these need careful maintenance to present them in their full glory. We offer detailed work on perennials, shrubs, and flowers, meticulous weeding, careful edging and mulching of beds, and consistent care of the lawn and other green spaces.
Most people ask about price and about the scope of our work before booking. Mostly they want to know they're in good hands — that someone professional is going to actually take care of their yard.
Most people mow their own lawns and weed their own gardens when they can. It's usually the bigger jobs — large garden beds and full hedging — that become too much for homeowners to handle themselves. Bigger properties, senior owners, or just not enough time in the week — that's usually when professional help makes sense.
When you ask for a quote, tell us where on the Peninsula you are and what you're looking for: lawn care, garden care, hedging, or all of it. If there's a specific area you want cleared or a hedge you want trimmed, a photo helps a lot — it makes the estimate and the first conversation much more useful.
We specialize in garden bed revitalization — pruning, weeding, mulching, and edging — and in hedge cleanup and reliable regular maintenance. If a hedge has been neglected for a couple of years, the difference after a proper trim is staggering. The same goes for garden beds prone to weeds: once they're cleaned out, mulched, and edged, ongoing maintenance becomes simple.
If you have an acreage or a property with gardens and lawns you'd rather enjoy than work in until you're dirty and sore, we're a good fit.
The best time to book is now — availability fills up fast during spring and fall, which are our busy seasons. If you're thinking about a cleanup or starting a recurring schedule, getting on the calendar early avoids the wait. We want to take care of your yard so you can enjoy it instead of losing sleep over it.
